Dimz Inc. Academy 2026: 16 Young Creatives. Three Original Productions.
This summer, 16 young creatives spent four weeks developing, producing and editing three original productions as part of Dimz Inc. Academy 2026.
Founded by Amelia Dimoldenberg, powered by Spiral Skills, sponsored by Adobe and with thanks to YCUK, the Academy brought together 16 young creatives, three original productions and 26 industry professionals.
Working in production teams, the cohort took on roles spanning producing, presenting, camera operation, editing, branding and design — building practical experience while taking their own ideas from concept to final cut. Working together in person across the month also gave them the space to build a creative community, share ideas and develop new professional connections.
The work
The creative brief was Love Letters. From that single theme came three very different productions: Trial By Letter, a conversational format exploring dating dilemmas; Love Scrolls, a vox pop series taking a playful look at modern dating; and What Love Wears, a documentary-style piece exploring how culture and love can influence what we wear.
Across the month, the teams developed and pitched their concepts, planned and delivered shoots, and shaped their final work using Adobe creative tools. They also worked directly with industry professionals and shadowed the Chicken Shop Date team on a live shoot, gaining insight into professional production alongside creating work of their own.
The impact
By the end of the Academy, the impact could be seen not only in what the young creatives produced, but in how they felt about their skills, confidence and future.
All 16 participants who completed the Skills Builder assessment also increased their average score.
And in their own words:
The showcase
On 27 August, the cohort screened their finished work at the Southbank Centre, sharing their productions with industry professionals, partners and supporters.
It was a chance to celebrate four weeks of ideas, collaboration and creativity — and the three original productions the young creatives had taken from initial concept to final screen.
What’s next
The support continues beyond the Academy.
The cohort will receive ongoing wraparound support from Spiral Skills, a year’s subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, continued access to YCUK’s kit and facilities, alumni networking opportunities and guaranteed work experience.
With thanks
A huge thank you to Amelia Dimoldenberg and the Dimz Inc. Academy team for making the Academy possible, for their commitment to empowering young creatives and for opening up their connections across the creative industries.
To Adobe, whose sponsorship made this year’s Academy possible, thank you for investing in the next generation of creative talent and enabling the programme to grow into an immersive month-long experience.
To the incredible YCUK team, thank you for the expertise and energy you brought to the Academy and for opening up your creative studio, kit and facilities to our young creatives.
Thank you to the 26 industry professionals who gave their time and authentically shared their stories, experiences, skills and passion; and to our returning Dimz Inc. Academy alumni, now progressing as creatives in their own right, who came back to share their experiences and inspire the next generation.
And thank you to the Southbank Centre for providing an incredible space for the cohort to get creative and ultimately showcase and celebrate their finished work.
Most importantly, congratulations to the 16 young creatives at the centre of it all — for the ideas, creativity and commitment they brought to this year’s Academy.
We can’t wait to see what comes next.
