Always dreamt about working in games?

Fasttrackers is a completely free 10-week long innovative program designed for underrepresented young adults in South London. Boost your employability skills for the video games industry. Our expert educators will help you develop the fundamental skills needed for a Community Management Apprenticeship with a Gaming Company.

What will you learn?

  • What being a Community Manager for games takes

  • How to develop a Games CV & Portfolio

  • How to identify your strengths and values

  • How to work individually and in a team

  • How to communicate professionally and think critically

  • Understanding of the different fields in game development

  • get matched to a paid game studio apprenticeship

What will the 10 week employability programme look like?

  • An introduction to the video games industry

  • Interactive sessions with live employer challenges

  • Hands on sessions on CV building and interview practice

  • Virtual masterclasses focussing on Twitch and Esports

  • Mental Health and wellness support workshops with charity Safe in Our World

  • Individually tailored sessions preparing you for your apprenticeship placement


We will matchmake you to a game studio that has signed up to take you on as a paid apprentice. The programme is designed to build your skills to jump into work and we will provide ongoing support to you and the studio during your placement.

key dates for the programme

  • 23rd March - Applications open

  • 31st May - Taster sessions running at the Horniman Museum from 1pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm

  • 31st May - Deadline for applications

  • 25th June - 31sth August - 2 workshops a week across this 10-week industry training programme. Workshops run on Saturdays from 10am and Wednesday from 4pm.

  • July and August - Candidates will be matched to paid gaming apprenticeships

  • September - Paid gaming apprenticeships kick off!

The Games industry is one of the fast growing and relevant industries in the UK, bringing together creativity and technology. Despite appealing to everyone, the Industry suffers from inequalities in diversity and representation - Games need you!  Fastrackers has been created to tip the scales back in the right direction by delivering confidence boosting experiences which develop skills needed to succeed in the real world.

FastTrackers is open to anyone between the ages of 18-30 who is living in Southwark, Wandsworth, Lambeth or Lewisham Applications from the global majority and those from underrepresented genders will be given priority and we also encourage applications from neurodiverse young people.
